Matt has been pursuing a stage career from very early on in life.
It all started at the age of three, with his first pair of cowboy
boots, he would ham it up anywhere possible. At the age of 5 he was
performing at various variety show on Music Row in Nashville.
Matt began his classical training on the violin at the age of 8
and continues today. During his third grade year he made an
appearance at three rivers stadium with his dad to perform the
song Pittsburgh Steelers Fan. That year Matt made appearances
on several radio stations promoting the Steelers fight song
and some of his own musical ability. Matt annually makes trips
to Nashville with his family pursuing songwriting opportunities.
At the Age of 13, Matt began studying the Guitar, following up
with Mandolin and Banjo. For the past 3 years Matt has been playing
Bass, Percussion, and Strings for the Praise Band at First Christian Church.
Matt recently took first Place for Violin in the 2003 Western Pennsylvania Bluegrass Association competition at Kelly Acres. Matt had the opportunity to play Mandolin on a Christmas CD for local artist Daphne LaPointe, which was produced at the world-renowned University of Pittsburgh recording studio.
Matt was recruited to play violin and Mandolin for Amanda Lynn CD release party at the Red Star saloon (Station Square) before a full house of 300 people. Amanda is receiving worldwide recognition with her debut CD release.
Matts latest Musical endeavor is with the band he founded, Common Thread. Common Thread originated with the Eighth Grade Battle of the bands at Trinity Middle School.
Matt is currently studying under Guitar legend Tony Janflone. Tony sees much promise for Matt and is steering him in the direction of Jazz and Bluegrass.
Matt has been learning the art of recording for the past 2 years. Matt has written and arranged various original compositions, which he has recorded and produced in his home studio. Upon graduation from High School Matt plans on intending Belmont University in Nashville.
