Aaron Lemley is a drummer of many different backgrounds.
Growing up in Washington PA he got his first drum when he was 6.
In his 4th grade year at Trinity North Elementary, he joined
the drum line. Quickly it was realized that he had a extraordinary
talent for rudiments and complicated rhythmic patterns, in an
instant he stood out from the rest. Once in the Middle School,
Aaron's raw energy and talent shown through. He furthered his
percussion studies and started taking private lessons with Jazz
drummer Pat DiIanni along with becoming a leading member in the
Trinity Percussion Ensemble. This was his first taste of Latin
percussion techniques playing anything from timbales to congas
as well as true Marching Snare. These differences in percussive
backgrounds expanded his techniques and style.
In Common Thread Aaron provides the strengthening structure.
Regularly playing the Djembe at smaller venues, its range of
high and low tones adds a unique touch in acoustic sets. Along
with a 9" conga that provides a fuller and more natural tone to
his parts. Aaron uses a wide range of influences to develop his
unique playing style and ability.
